Awards

The Kensington Colleges Award

Awarded to a second year or above resident who embodies the ideals of The Kensington Colleges in academic achievement, participation in activities and in service to UNSW and/or the wider community. Judged by staff and fellow residents, this award will be in the form of a certificate with a prize value of $500 and recipient names will be placed on an honour board positioned in the Goldstein Dining Hall.

Scholarships

As well as the general scholarships available at UNSW, there are a number of scholarships available for residents living in UNSW Colleges.

For high school leavers, applications normally close around the September 30th for entry to college the following year.

John Holden Family Foundation Scholarships

The John Holden Family Foundation Scholarship is awarded as a part residential scholarship for up to 2 students from a rural or regional area living at one of The Kensington Colleges.

The scholarship is valued at $12,000 for up to 2 years.


Barnes Clitheroe Baxter College Residential Scholarship

The Barnes Clitheroe Baxter College Residential Scholarship is available for a student entering Philip Baxter College.

The scholarship is valued at $9,000 a year for 2 years and there is 1 available.


Bob Mackie Memorial Residential Scholarship

The Bob Mackie Memorial Residential Scholarship is valued at 9,000 a year for 2 years.


David Nunan Residential Rural Scholarship

The David Nunan Residential Rural Scholarship is awarded to assist students from rural areas living at one of The Kensington Colleges.

The scholarship is valued at $8,000 and there are 1 or 2 available for 2 years.


Daniel & Helen Gauchat Residential Scholarship for Rural Medical Students

The Daniel & Helen Gauchat Residential Scholarship for Rural Medical Students is a residential scholarship for students from a rural area in their first year of studying medicine while living at one of The Kensington Colleges.

The scholarship is valued at $8,000 and there are 2 available for 1 year.


UNSW Accommodation Scholarship    

UNSW offers a wide range of Equity Scholarships to assist commencing students to undertake full-time study for the standard duration of their coursework degree program. The UNSW Accomodation Scholarship is to assist commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework students with accommodation costs while studying at UNSW. The Scholarship will be paid as accommodation fees directly to UNSW Student Accommodation.

The scholarship is valued at $25,000 p.a. towards residential fees for standard program duration
