• What’s the fee in advance payment and is it refundable?

  • A fee in advance payment of $1000AUD is required to accept your accommodation offer. This fee in advance will be subtracted from your final accommodation fee instalment.

If you don’t receive an offer to study at UNSW and inform us in writing with documentation* at least 7 days prior to the start of your Licence Agreement, the fee in advance can be refunded on request.

*Documentation required can be one of the following:

    • Letter from Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) showing that your preference of UNSW was not offered.
    • Letter from UNSW Student Central or Faculty Course Co-ordinator advising that you will not be offered a place or you were unsuccessful in your application.
    • Letter from UNSW Admissions advising that you will not be offered a place.

The fee in advance form can be found here.

Email the form to the Student Accommodation office.

If you receive an offer to study at UNSW and decline that offer, the fee in advance is not refundable.

If you decide to defer your study for a term, you will need to seek approval from the UNSW Student Accommodation Office at least 7 days prior to the start of your Licence Agreement. If approved, your offer of accommodation will be deferred to the appropriate term and the fee in advance payment will be retained.
